First established prior to the 9th year of the Wanli reign in the Ming Dynasty (1581 AD), it boasts the reputation of &#8220;the Premier Celebrity Lane in Jiangnan&#8221; [1] [16]. Located in the south-central part of Changzhou\u2019s old town, the alley is south of the ancient Grand Canal, stretching east from Zhengsu Alley to Jinling Middle Road in the west (directly connecting to the South Street Commercial Center) and north to Gucun (Ancient Village). It is dotted with famous residences and former residences of celebrities, ancestral halls, temples, halls, bridges, archways, stone steles, woodlands, springs, verandas, pavilions, ancient wells, docks, opera houses, theaters, and schools.
